Difficulty level. High. The early gaming years.

ZX Spectrum
Atari 2600
Nintendo Family Computer
Playstation One

We grew up with computers. Programming in basic, playing games on the ZX Spectrum, a computer you plugged into a TV. I had the ZX Spectrum +3, with 128k on board memory, and my best friend the 48k one.

The game data was recorded on a ordinary tape cassette. When we wanted to play a game.  The cassette player had to be plugged into the computer, hoping it loads the first time, or even worse, not to devour the tape. Wait ten minutes while it loads. Play Batman or Robocop, by Ocean.

Then our first PC landed on our desk with a 16k color screen. It used Ms-Dos. Later upgraded it to Windows 3.11. We spend hours playing games, sharing the same keyboard, no multiplayer here. Unless we were reinstalling Windows.

I created my first password game in QBasic, you just had to guess the password, when you got it wrong, alarms would go off, and the screen flashed in a loop, until you pressed control break.

Difficulty level. Still high. The awesome 1D and 2D gaming console.

The classic Atari 2600, one of the first gaming consoles, was our first console. We played Pac Man, Space Invaders, Tic Tac Toe and Tennis Pro. Playing with two joysticks a real two player setup. No sharing here.

A few years passed. We got the new game console, a Nintendo “Family Computer”. We played Circus, co-op games like, Contra, Double Dragon, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many others. I remember the frustration, no save points, it was fun to play again. Just on the following day.

Difficulty level. Higher. But Breathtaking. The new 3D gaming console.

Then the world stood still. We were amazed. The playstation one was here. 3D graphics. Exquisite sound. Popped in a game CD, no cartridges, stiffies or cassettes tapes here. Played legends like, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid. The game controller vibrated in your hand when something exploded. It was awesome. My grandmother even enjoyed it. While she watched us play.

Magnificent machines.

The beautiful thing about computers is, the learning never stops. Creativity is limitless. We are going to create our own Indie games. The journey begins for us noobs.

Stay razor harp.

On the mental and physical side of things. We need to stay healthy. This were SonjaP will help and keep us going. Teaching us what exercises to do and what healthy food to eat. Being healthy will keep us developing, learning, creating, and most importantly, gaming.
